Velarium is a sculptural exploration of concealment and revelation, where a luminous bronze surface appears to lift away from a fractured black terrain. The work unfolds through the dialogue of opposing materials: the fluid presence of metal contrasts with a geological texture whose fissures reveal subtle bronze glimmers from within. Rather than depicting a form, the composition evokes a threshold between what is visible and what remains hidden.
Built through successive layers of mixed media, the surface responds continuously to changing light. The bronze shifts from soft satin reflections to deep metallic radiance, while the textured black ground absorbs illumination and quietly releases warm flashes from beneath its fractured skin. This interplay between light and matter gives the work a changing presence that cannot be fully captured in a single glance.
