Waves
Waves - In private collection
Sculptural painting on canvas.
150 × 150 cm | 60 × 60 in
Acrylic texture paste and high-quality acrylics, enriched with metallic and pearlescent pigments, on museum-grade stretched canvas.
Waves, Breeze, Flame, and Cave are inspired by the four classical elements—water, air, fire, and earth—each capturing the essence and movement of its respective element through texture, light, and iridescence.
This piece was conceived as a dialogue between light and matter. On the canvas, iridescent tones open and shift like a quiet breath, revealing golden and silver reflections that surface only when the viewer moves. The background, softly pearlescent, becomes the stage for sculpted waves in metal hues. Each crest is shaped by hand with texture paste, creating a rhythm that changes under different angles of light, as if the painting were alive in its own atmosphere.
The piece exists in three refined metal interpretations: gold, a warm silver recalling the softness of champagne, and a cooler, more luminous silver.

Each variation introduces a distinct atmosphere, altering the way the work interacts with its surroundings. The iridescent pigments absorb and reflect ambient tones, allowing the artwork to resonate with the space it inhabits while preserving a composed, almost contemplative elegance.
Situated between painting and sculpture, the work transcends the limits of the flat surface. The raised textures, carved gestures, and layered luminosity remain intentionally visible, honoring the process as part of the final expression. Light moves slowly across the sculpted landscape, revealing new nuances over time. What emerges is not merely an image, but an experience of material, depth, and quiet sophistication.
